Behind the Image #1 - Jack Looking Outside
Behind the image is a new series I will be running, discussing the motivation behind the capture of specific images. With photography, for me anyway, most of the photos I take, have some meaning behind them - whether it's practice to get better, emotion of me or the subject, etc.
In this picture, Jack Looking Outside, Jack, my 16 year old puppy, was trying to get my attention to take him outside at one point prior to this snap. He eventually stopped pacing and running back and forth, and chose to take a sit in front of me, and stare out - essentially I believe to make me feel bad - lol.
Compelled by my initial instinct, to grab my camera (which is generally by my side somewhere), I took the shot. Feeling comfortable that I captured the moment well, I got up and took Jack outside and we walked for a while.
During post-processing, I realized this was actually a good capture, and visualizing in various states, found that B&W really caught the mood and the emotion of the shot well. It was a good moment, and I'm glad I was able to catch it.
