This little guy was wandering around the park the other day while I was taking some snap shots of the local scenery. I followed him around to try and get a better look at him when he suddenly decided to pose - lol.
I had my 100-400 mounted on my camera and zoomed all the way out to 400 for this one. Trying to stay out of the way of people walking around me, i got down on one knee and took several shots. He stood so still I was able to get a very clear shot of him, so much that you can actually see the nut crumbs on his whiskers.
It was kind of a funny day - I had a lot of my camera gear on me because I wanted to just relax and enjoy the day, while getting some good shots of the area. There were several people following me around and wanted to see my pics when I was done, so I sat a table (with my COVID mask on), and shared the pics through the screen of my camera, at which point I was able to share my company and website information with them.
Following this park shoot, this picture sold well - so it was a good semi-unplanned marketing event for Mark Butler Photos.
These are the fun photos to take for me. Capturing nature, in its 'natural' state - unposed (although this guy was very cooperative). Candid shots are the best because you just never know what you are going to get, and everybody/everything is generally relaxed, not worried about that is going on around them. This is one of the main reasons I love photography.
